How Health-Crush Began

What is it that fuels each and every one of us in this world? For me, it is Health-Crush. Since I began practicing as a Registered Dietitian in 2004, I’ve strived to share my knowledge with others to improve their health and lifestyle. I enjoy doing just that and through this adventure, I am writing about my passions, what interests me, what interests other people, and sharing it with the world. With each passing day, the goal is that Health-Crush gains more followers, and with that, even more success so that hopefully, everyone can feel better through the body, mind, and soul with this information.

I share my life with my amazing husband, SethT, who tirelessly keeps up with me in all my adventures, from knitting to creating Halloween costumes, to the first bite to the last drop...he's by my side, encouraging me to be my best and maybe, just maybe building another trellis or bookshelf, or Murphy Bed, or whatever my heart desires (he has mad skills and I love him dearly).

We have two amazing daughters, Olivia & Fiona. Livy is the most compassionate girl ever and loves anything art, drawing, writing songs, singing, and strumming her guitar, banjo, or ukulele. She plays and invents endlessly, all while smiling. She’s the best cheerleader and encourager with about the highest emotional quotient (EQ) you’ll find in a kid. Fi is a very competitive and eager learner. She reads ferociously while trying to win at anything and everything. She’ll keep you on your toes but has the sweetest heart…if she lets you inside.

We recently had to say goodbye to our beloved chocolate lab, Walter. He was my biggest fan and never left my side…I tend to think he is still there, picking up a lost carrot or strawberry (his favorite) and stealing smells while I cook while keeping me company in the wee hours of the night. For anyone who has a pet who’s crossed over, I’m sending a virtual hug to you. This is probably one of the hardest goodbyes.

As for me, I started initially as a Registered Dietitian in long-term care, learning about all the things that happens to your body when you neglect to eat well and move for decades. This not only struck a chord with me on how you can compassionately serve those in the death and dying world, but how the body is truly resilient and it’s never too late to feel great! This helped drive my desire to educate on healthy, delicious, wholesome food that can serve a lifetime of focus on food for the body, mind, and soul…because we only have one body so let’s make our body dance & sing with the ones we love while eating and dining to both please our body and tease our tastebuds!
