SEASONING

Every time I made something with "Italian Seasoning" I didn't find that I had this particular blend and tended to use whatever herbs and spices I found that complement the dish. However, over many meals of flavoring my dishes with this particular blend, I kept reaching for the same combination and decided, it is time to make my own blend and have it all in a jar for both ease of use and save some precious cooking time! Thus began my own special blend. 

 

Now, I've been slowly adding in red chili flakes to this to hopefully help my youngest handle some heat to her dishes. She is notorious for being quite sensitive to the heat of spices, so adjust at your own liking or add the red chili flakes separately.

Now...let's get spicy!

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 Tablespoon Basil

  • 2 Tablespoon Thyme

  • 2 Tablespoon Oregano

  • 2 Tablespoon Marjoram

  • 2 Tablespoon Rosemary

  • 2 Tablespoon Parsley

  • 1 Tablespoon Red Chili Flakes 

  • Sprinkle of Salt (optional)

PREPARATION

  1. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl until they are well dispersed.

  2. Store in an airtight container or mason jar in a dark place, away from light. 

  3. Use generously in your foods

  4. Can last up to 12 weeks
